Selectable drive modes include Normal, Tow/Haul, Off-Road, Terrain, and Baja (exclusive to ZR2). On-road, the Colorado remains responsive, its steering calibrated for clarity, not over-assist. Suspension across the board is firm enough to control body roll, but comfortable enough for daily driving. Four-wheel disc brakes with Duralife rotors improve pedal feel and reduce fade under load. When properly configured, the Colorado can tow up to 7,700 lbs., with an integrated trailer brake controller and hitch guidance to keep it aligned and stable.

Interior
Inside, the Colorado feels trucklike in all the right ways—upright seating, clear sightlines, a squared-off dash. But it’s modernized with an 11.3-inch diagonal color touchscreen standard across all trims, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 8-inch digital gauge cluster gives real-time readouts that change based on drive mode. Z71 and ZR2 trims offer Jet Black interiors with Adrenaline Red accents, adding contrast and boldness. Storage is smart and abundant, with dual gloveboxes, under-seat bins, and a deep center console that’s wide enough to hold tablets and small gear.
A rotary shift dial, push-button start, and steering wheel controls are laid out with driver focus in mind. Higher trims feature heated front seats, dual-zone climate, and available ventilated seating.
